I remember I've been here 30 years ago. Is it still run by the same owner? She's really nice. I don't go there anymore because I left California 30 years ago. And I'm currently living in Alaska. I just want to leave a message and say hi to the owner.

Colonial Kitchen is a true hidden gem for brunch in the San Gabriel Valley! I drove by this place for nearly a year without stopping in, and from the outside, it doesn't immediately catch your eye. But let me tell you, this diner is the real deal. I've been to countless diners over the past half-century, and Colonial Kitchen ranks up there with the best of them. Inside, it's vintage-themed with wood-paneled walls, cozy booths, and a counter for those who prefer that classic diner experience. The ambiance, with old-time music playing, brings back memories of places I would have visited with my parents back in the '70s. The food here is consistently fantastic. The omelets are fresh, the coffee is hot, and the pancakes are perfectly fluffy. Plus, the service is solid; they're attentive with coffee refills, and the food comes out quickly. I've never had a bad meal here. Is it the fanciest or trendiest spot in town? No. But that's not what it's aiming for. Colonial Kitchen is friendly, comforting, and welcoming. It's become our go-to spot for breakfast and brunch. If you're looking for good food and consistently strong service, I highly recommend giving this place a try. You'll want to come back again and again. I'm so glad we discovered it!

I really like the new tables for the outside dining area! Idk how long they've had them, but it's a must needed touch to this place. I've been coming here for years and have always loved it. However, I moved away some years ago; I'm glad I dropped by for some nostalgia.

I drove past Colonial Kitchen for years without eating there. After my wife's doctor's appointment in Arcadia, she asked where to go for breakfast. I suggested Colonial Kitchen which is on the way to her work in South Pasadena. When we walked in, we noticed the place was a quaint little restaurant with wood stools on the counter, booths in the back and private rooms. We sat in the main area. Service was very good. Once we placed our order, the food came out in 10 minutes. I ordered the short stack buttermilk pancakes (2). They were thick and chewy. No need for syrup because there's no aftertaste to the pancakes. One of the best buttermilk pancakes for $6.00. DJ's rating: 4.35/5.00 Would I come back? Yes.
